My Services

At Pawz and Tails Dog Training, I’m here to help you better understand your dog and create real, lasting change. My approach is kind, practical, and tailored to both you and your dog—because no two dogs (or owners) are the same.

Whether you’re looking to build solid foundations or work through more complex behaviours, I focus on training that supports your dog’s welfare and helps you feel confident in everyday life.

🐾 Basic Training

This is ideal for puppies or dogs who need help with everyday manners and essential life skills. Together, we’ll build strong foundations through clear, positive training, including:

  • Basic cues (sit, stay, down, and more)

  • Loose lead walking

  • Reliable recall

  • Reducing jumping up

  • Preventing counter surfing

  • Managing door dashing

My aim is to help you raise a dog who understands what’s expected of them, so you can enjoy a calmer, more connected relationship.

🐾 Advanced Training & Behaviour Support

For dogs experiencing more complex behavioural challenges, I offer supportive, structured training in areas such as:

  • Reactivity (towards dogs, people, or the environment)

  • Separation-related issues

  • Resource guarding

I take a thoughtful, welfare-led approach to behaviour work, always looking at the bigger picture—not just the behaviour itself, but why it’s happening.

Where appropriate, I may recommend that your dog is assessed by a qualified dog behaviourist or veterinary behaviourist before we begin. This is to rule out any underlying pain or medical concerns that could be affecting their behaviour, ensuring we’re working in a way that is fair, safe, and in your dog’s best interest.

Use the contact form and I will be in touch to arrange a consultation so that I can tailor training to your dog and your family.

Emily has been working with my family and our border collie Max to improve his anxious behaviours and his walking on the lead. She has such a patient approach, getting to know Max, observing him in his surroundings and tailoring a program of games and activities to support him. As a result of her support with Max we have developed strategies to support him both at home and in his outdoor activities. His walking on the lead has greatly improved and it is now a pleasure to take him for a walk.
I have have no hesitation in recommending Emily as a really competent dog trainer.
