Behaviour Training

What is Positive Reinforcement-Based Training?

Positive reinforcement is all about celebrating good behavior! Instead of focusing on what your dog is doing wrong, we reward them for what they’re doing right. Whether it's sitting on cue, walking calmly on a leash, or just being a good listener, your dog learns that good things happen when they behave well.

The benefits are clear:

  • Builds a strong, trusting relationship between you and your dog.

  • Promotes positive behaviors that last a lifetime.

  • Reduces stress for both you and your dog—training should be fun, not frustrating!

  • Encourages confidence and happiness in your dog.

Training Options: Group or One-on-One Sessions

  • Group Training Sessions
If your dog loves meeting new friends, our group classes are a perfect way to learn in a fun, social environment. You’ll work on basic cues like sit, stay, lead walking and recall, while your dog gets the chance to socialise with other pups. It’s a great way to bond, build confidence, and have fun!

  • Private One-on-One Sessions
For more tailored training, Emily offers private sessions that focus just on you and your dog. Whether you need help with puppy training, behavior issues, or just want to improve communication, Emily will create a personalized plan to meet your dog’s unique needs and help you reach your training goals.

Emily has been working with my family and our border collie Max to improve his anxious behaviours and his walking on the lead. She has such a patient approach, getting to know Max, observing him in his surroundings and tailoring a program of games and activities to support him. As a result of her support with Max we have developed strategies to support him both at home and in his outdoor activities. His walking on the lead has greatly improved and it is now a pleasure to take him for a walk.
I have have no hesitation in recommending Emily as a really competent dog trainer.
